This one just sorta fell off my shelf and hit me in the head on the way down... Not a ton of effort, but enjoyable and straightforward. I usually have a build like this after a bit of an absence from the modelling bench. Helps get me focused.

I do love floatplanes! Most of the seam sanding has been done, and I've got the canopy on. Masking is next.

This one seems to be going along smoothly… I must be doing something wrong. 😉

Yeah. This one was a breeze. I had to go into the spares box for some decals because the first couple disintegrated on me. All in all a fun little project.

Fantastic quickbuild, Greg! Looks cool! (and now I feel tempted to buy this kit... 😉 )

Very nice build, Greg. But what is that horrendous tool in the front?

Thanks guys. The Smer kit was actually pretty easy to build. I didn't have high expectations, and I didn't try to overdo it, but it came together quite easily.
That « horrendous tool in the front » are the handle side view of my sprue clippers. They were there to hold the nose down while the glue set. I drilled the hole a bit too large and it was wobbling around a bit too much on the brass rod that attaches it to the base.
Heh… Roland… what can I say… buying model kits and building model kits are two different hobbies! 😉

Lovely. And dat colour, is it Tamiya X-4 I used on my Jetstream? Looks similar.

It's Tamiya XF-8 Flat Blue. It's pretty close to X-4, but just a shade lighter I think.

i like it, are you going to build the Daimler and the mosquito too?
21 December 2021, 18:41

The Daimler is already built! (The Red Sea Sharks (Khmedi Daimler) | Album by strobez (1:72)) and the Mosquito is already in the stash, waiting for a rainy day. 😉
