Bill is an amazing modeler. He isn't afraid to take a chance on producing a different outcome than other modelers. That is what you have to do. Don't be afraid, especially if you compete. Competition is selling your concept to the judges. Some will like what you do, and screw the rest. If you take your time and treat each and every part as its own model, your skills will improve and you will enjoy modeling more.

Everyone likes to have people appreciate their labors, but that can't be their sole motivation or they will get lost in the fickle audience. I think on any given day that I can win and on any given day I can lose. When I go to a contest, I know that all I can do is my best. I place the model on the table and walk away. At the end of the day I will find out how I did.
