Hello Roland, can you tell me who makes that B-17 resin wheel set? I also have this Stratolinre kit! Congratulations on a very nice looking model. Like you, I have a love (hate) for difficult kits!
13 March, 16:55

Thank you for the appreciation! Yes, love-hate is the right expression 🙂 You're very welcome: here is the link to the product: B-17B/C/D/E/F Flying Fortress (Armory AR AW72349, 1:72)

Thanks Roland. I think you and I have written in the past. I believe it was about the Dornier Do 26 by Amodel. I enjoy your choices of subjects!

As I'm currently laid up with a pelvic fracture - everything is healing well and without any problems - here are three examples of how to pass the time reasonably. Maybe you'll have fun with them too 🙂 Drawings are mine, animations come from the app...

Thank you very much! I understand your preference for 1:72, but if you want to try the 1:32 scale, I can really recommend Revell's Arado 196 🙂

Roland sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you that you can heal without too much discomfort. Looking forward to seeing your new builds when you're ready. In the meantime if you want to share more drawings I'm all for it.

Thank you, fortunately the recovery is progressing well. Appreciated words from both of you! So I won't hesitate to upload something here again when something airplane/model related has been created! 🙂

I would like to show you a New Year's greeting of a rather unusual kind: If you take around four minutes of your time, I'll introduce you to my 'Modelling Yearbook 2024' in a short video clip! The 'Yearbook 2024' is a collection of pictures and texts on around 30 projects from the past year.
You can find all the rest in the film! 🙂

Nice - well done. But why are you using expensive 3 layer Cosy for masking 🤨 just kidding .... 🙃😆
16 December 2024, 10:21

Thank you, Michael and Thomas! The -late- reworking of the trailing edges of the wings was necessary because Modelsvit ensures sharp trailing edges by supplying them in one half of the wing, but: this is in the lower wing component, so that an adhesive edge remained visible on the upper side. For a while I convinced myself that this wasn't so bad and could be explained as a "panel line", but towards the end of the build I couldn't bear it any longer, so I unceremoniously filled it, sanded it and - after getting the most expensive toweling paper I could find - taped it off again so that I could renew the NMF. Thank you, Thomas, for noticing this luxury paper - just don't save money in the wrong place! 🙂

I am very happy about all your interest, mates - that motivates me! I can show you the P-8 in 'all its greatness' - it won't be any longer, wider or higher, but that should be enough 🙂 The kit goes together very nicely, but a little bit of filler is still needed.

I am very happy about your positive feedback - thank you, mates! Two more T-38s, this time from Trumpeter, are still in the pipeline; well, for me the 'Talon' is one of the most beautiful jets, especially in the look of the 'White Rocket' 🙂
Skyhiker, the collection is indeed growing... 🙂 Well, the only thing I can think of regarding the 'secret' is that I like to build models in parallel with a certain consistency - rarely more than five, rarely less than three.

Sehr gute Zusammenfassung, Roland.

Potzblitz! Erwischt! 🙂 Thank you, Rene, I've obviously missed something important - I think you're absolutely right about the corrugated metal interior structure! Now that you've indicated that you've thought about a solution, I've also considered how to improve this..... I might try using black decal strips next time to at least give a visual hint of the structure, but I'm sure there are even more sophisticated approaches.
8 September 2024, 09:12

I tried to create corrugated metal from a fine sheet of metal using my "tentacle tool" and a toothpick. It worked quite well, but there just wasn't enough space in the cockpit itself to place it. It's kinda cramped in there...
Your idea might work much better.
8 September 2024, 16:33
