Michael KohlSome WIP pictures would be nice. Like this it "just" looks like a very well done model. But - correct me if I'm wrong - I suppose some serious effort has been put into this build to bring it to this level.

After finishing two night-fighters of the WWII era, belonging to German Luftwaffe, I moved on to the conflict on the Korean peninsula. This one is the last of the piston engine fighters from the Lavockin family and it was deployed straight from the operating stock of the USSR VVS, flying from an An-tung airbase on the North-Korean border with China. Sometimes in spring of 1952 the fighters dedicated to the night missions received a black paint on the lower surfaces, while still maintaining uniform gray upper camo.
ARK kit of La-11 is quite simple and plain. One could say that there is a big potential for improvement with some (not so) tender love and care. The trench-like panel lines were filled with sprue-goo, then sanded smooth, re-scribed and riveted. Metallic Details provides some nice p/e and resin wheels for this kit and Quinta Studio dresses up the cockpit. I opted to open the louvers in front of the cowling and scratch-built the twin-stars of the engine using cylinders from my scrap box.
