Finally finished it. I have been trying out a lot of new hand brushing techniques with this one. Getting there.

That want's me to get one of these sea birds even more now, she is absolutely gorgeous. The weathering is spot on to my liking, well done on a top job Mike.👍👍👍

Thanks a lot Michael. An interesting build. The weathering is largely based on the excellent box cover art work and the superb build featured on the promo page. After that it was a bit of an experiment. Not really attempted much in the way of weathering before. Its a whole new ball game.

Thanks Nathan, Clifford, Model_Mania and Alec K.
I used EZline for the rigging. Makes life much easier.

Hi Jens. Thanks a lot. I like that Neuling!! Thanks Michael. Had a lot of fun with this. Learnt a lot about using dilute enamel washes and spittle brushing to add textures.

I have not planned to build a Walrus as yet because i have a huge stash - but i couldn't resist buying a catapult i saw while i was browsing Neomega fo other accessories. It would be ideal to display your model. The reason i bought it was its a design by our local engineering company McTaggart and Scott in Loanhead Midlothian, Scotland They have recently been involved in engineering work on the 2 new British Aircraft carriers, but have a long history in steam catapults for the RN. i was wondering f i could use the same catapult t display my Sea Hurricane as if it was n a CAM merchant ship. here is the link neomega-resin.com/rn-catapult-cradle-985-p.asp

Thx for building and sharing of this unusual an difficult to build plane. Good job.

Thanks Holger and Bart.
Alistair - Yes, thats great isnt it!! I am very very tempted, but at £45.00, probably worth it for a custom resin build. I will see how the budget goes. Trouble is, where do you stop! Will I then need the cruiser decking etc!!
You can only admire the crew when they got flung off the side. Wonder how that compares with g-force on a carrier Phantom take off. Must of been a hell of a ride!!

Thanks Christian and Hi Bernhard.
I found the build fairly straight forward, but did have problems sticking the cabin fuselage together. It was all a bit out of alignment which caused knock on problems for the canopy. Managed a work around. Probaly my own fault rather than a problem with the kit.
If you are thinking of building this one using the 'open' canopy (which will be everyone) make sure it sits properly in the slots. You will know what I mean. Apart from that its a brilliant kit. The interior is very nice too. Didnt spend a lot of time on that but could post a few pics if anyone is interested in a gander.

Hello Mike, The open canopy is a problem of Airfix, it has the same dimensions as the closed one and it is made without the rails and a bit too tight, I had mentioned and described this in the construction of my. really the only problem with the walrus
