What a great series of cars, thanks to the uploader. Has anyone built one?

This model (along with the Revell U-99) depicts a Type VII-B, a far cry from the Type IX U-505 (Revell took artistic license with the name probably to capitalize on the popularity of U-505 in Chicago IL). The VII-B is the predecessor to the vastly more numerous VII-C type and the kit probably remains the biggest scale, mass produced model of a VII-B. The model is decent and the shapes are right but the parts are basic and the hull and conning tower have no weld seam/ribbing details to speak of and are as smooth as the proverbial baby's butt. Consider it a good blank canvas to do your own super-detailing.

I'm only guessing at the 1957 and 1958 dates here but I wanted them on the timeline in some sort of order. The main point however was to showcase the amazing box art.

It appears the motorization/animation function, motor and gearbox parts have been deleted from the newest rebox of this kit. None of those parts are addressed in the new instructions.

A strange hybrid kit. The Vietnam-era New Jersey on the box art is not what you get inside the box. The kit supplies parts that can depict a late WWII New Jersey with 20mm and 40mm AA guns, catapults and Curtiss Seahawks but includes a circa 1955-56 quadruped mainmast (rear mast) with AN/SPS-8 radar. It is therefore unique among the 1:350 Iowa-class models.

This instruction manual can be used for the James, Napoleon, Parrott and Whitworth gun kits (same instructions for all 4 kits). This is the older instruction manual and it is much more detailed than the one page sheet they provide with the newest kits. Enjoy.

Despite the reference materials listed for this kit, it does not depict the famed French 1897 75mm from WW1 as many think; it is none other than the American 3-inch Gun, Model of 1902. Once you know what it is, you can view photos and see the kit is fairly decent for the time (1957) it was introduced. The scale is not 1:24, I roughly estimate it to be about 1:19 which is a lot larger.

At this time the Revell 03831 B-24D is a bargain for a 1:48 scale ($96.12)
Airfix AFX09010 1:72 B-24H Liberator $56.49
Hasegawa HASE29 1:72 B-24J Liberator $63.23
Hobby Boss HBB81774 1:48 B-24J Liberator $103.42
Hobby Boss HBB83211 1:32 B-24J Liberator $171.16
Hobby Boss HBB83212 1:32 B-24D Liberator $231.58
My advice, search that popular auction site and buy a used/unbuilt kit as all plastic kits are expensive.

One of the very few Ford Model T Torpedo Runabouts in 1/16 (the other is a Hudson Miniatures kit in wood). This is a unique Model T only produced for 1.5 years in this form. Molded in black, clear and "brass" plated parts. The model represents a "1911" Torpedo Runabout even though the car was introduced October 5, 1910 (start of the 1911 fiscal year). The original Lindberg model was motorized and contains a not-scale battery box in the rear but the bottom of the battery box can be cut away to match the rest of the frame rails. It's the only 1/16 T kit with a full motor. All 4 wheels turn and it steers (positionable front wheels). 4 out of 5 stars.
