bughunter 著者Yeah, I painted it - but the used green looks much too military for my taste! I tried to fix it with another layer, but ant the end I washed the whole paint away.
MiniArt recommends Tamiya XF-05 for it, much that looks totally different compared to the 3D view in manual.
This week I had the chance to look in the other new MiniArt box "Military Service", the 3D view looks much different regarding the green shade compared to my instructions but the same XF-05 is recommended?!
I need to find a better green or mix my own.
But I will finish the Vega first, as I received today a letter with used spare decals - which fits to my needs 🙂

bughunter 著者That comes only into the list, if there is at least one spammer reported and wait for votes. If the spammer is kicked with enough votes the list entry is gone.
It is the same principle as with other filterings here - a empty element is not shown (e.g. if you filter for "Propeller" in "Category", the only "Aircraft" is displayed in "Group" as all other entries has 0 elements.
BTW: this album is used to explain my reports in "Feature requests". Many of them are fixed, so maybe I should delete those pics.

Boris BHi Frank, I think it's a great idea to make How-To tutorials for ScaleMates. We should coordinate with Tim for dedicated membres to work on these together and decide how it's best to proceed.
I suggest you post a link to this album to the Feature Requests to get that discussion rolling.

Ben, the fan was part of the kit. It offers also two possibilities for the mesh: a clear part with decal (see decal 5 in pic4) or a plastic mesh (on the right in pic 4). My metal mesh was finer.

@Jennifer you are right! Nothing looks like wood like real wood 🙂 Because they were made of mahogany and there was no shortage of it in Great Britain, the individual layers here are made of the same wood.
@David Many, or more precise 9 Sopwith types are already in my cabinet. There are not much types left, where a kit in 1:48 is available. But at least Snipe, Baby and 1 1/2 Strutter are waiting in my stash.

That is not really a WIP album yet, but I made an experiment on a left over Pfalz wing to reach to look of the colored profile painted again by Ronny Bar:
Primed gray, added Semi Matt Aluminium, masked and painted two crosses.
The dark red at the front will be a different story ...
Then I tried different highly thinned blue paints. H322 was not bad, but do not cover the black cross, or only with very much paint. But I'm happy after adding a drop of light gray to the paint mix.

bughunterFolks, please use a mask with a filter when airbrushing! I only work with a paint booth with extraction, but still wear a mask. This week I changed the filters and it was amazing how many colour particles were in the pre-filter for dust! I'm glad they're not in my lungs now 👍

Even though my airbrush booth extracts 3 cubic metres of air per minute, I can see in the sunlight under my roof window that vortices form when the airflow from the airbrush hits surfaces. These vortices transport pigments that would be inhaled in the area in front of the booth.

Robin (WhiteGlint)Yes, definitely always wear a mask. I remember when I didn't have my paint booth, how often I had to change my filters....
The booth helps but I can still see that there's pigments in the dust filter over a longer period of time. I wish I could extract it directly like you do bughunter but my room setup does not allow it. But at least in summer I can keep the windows open for ventilation and use an air purifier if necessary.

bughunter 著者I got an answer from ICM regarding the wheels - the concavity were intended to feature the "Ford" inscription. However, due to manufacturing constraints, they were unable to replicate the inscription, resulting in a slightly larger hole.
For me my work around is good enough.

I like old cars. They breathe nostalgia and the memory of a time when things were made simply and care was taken to make them last as long as poss
